Advice for Road Runners: The New Balance Women's Fresh Foam X 860v13 are one of the most stable feeling stability running shoes in our range. If you're looking for great arch support in your running shoes, these should be a great option.
Underfoot Feel
The New Balance 860v13 feels supportive in the arch area because it features a medial post. In our experience, this tends to work for runners with unstable feet and ankles.
The balanced nature of the cushioning further adds to the sensation of support. By balanced, we mean the cushioning feels soft and responsive. It's normal for responsive midsole compounds to feel stable underfoot.
If you're wondering why the cushioning feels both soft and responsive, the midsole has two different compounds. Soft Fresh Foam X makes the up the majority of the cushioning. However, a firmer cushioning in the forefoot improves energy return.
Upper Fit
The New Balance Fresh Foam X 860v13 upper features a lightweight engineered mesh. The tapered heel collar helps to reduce Achilles tendon friction.
Ideal Run Type
We recommend choosing the New Balance Women's Fresh Foam X 860v13 stability running shoes if you need more arch support to combat greater ranges of pronation.
Even though the 860v13 midsole feels soft and responsive, they're best suited to slower to steady paced runs.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
